Especially,
Quang Ninh is bestowed with the following large material areas
A
reserve of 1,322 mil. tons of limestone and 130 mil. tons of clay
in Hoành Bồ which makes it possible to produce 10 mil. tons
of cement a year for a period of more than 100 years. As
investigated, the limestone block No. 2 located in Hoành Bồ
can provide 226 mil. tons of high quality qualified enough to
produce special cement. In addition, other big limestone deposits
of high quality for cement production are found in Đông
Triều - Uông Bí and Quang Hanh – Cẩm Phả.
A
reserve of 41.5 mil. tons of clay located in Giếng Đáy
ensures the production of 100 mil. bricks and tiles a year for a
period of 100 years. Giếng Đáy clay has high contents of
Fe2O3 and Fe3O4 as
compared to those found in other places that bricks and tiles made
of this material are dark red, well-shaped, smooth, and of high
quality. Giếng Đáy clay is really qualified enough to
produce ceramic and chinaware, decorative bricks used in extra
standard building.

granite deposits in Quang Ninh are: Hải Ninh deposit, which
has a reserve of 35 mil. c. m of black, smooth, semi-pure granite,
anti-pressure of 1,600 - 1,650 kg/ sq. cm; Quang Hà deposit which
has a reserve of 30 mil. c. m of full-range color (pink, brown,
grey) granite, anti-pressure of 1,300 - 1,500 kg/ sq. cm; and B́nh
Liêu deposit which has a reserve of 90 mil. c. m of pink granite,
pocpia family.
Tân
Mài kaolin deposit is so big. The kaolin is crystallised into
huge rock of light white color and beautiful veins. Once quarried
from the ground, it is soft and easy for processing. After certain
period of time, it becomes hard and gloss. Customers from abroad,
including Japan, were interested in this kind of kaolin once it
was discovered. For its better physical and chemical characters
comparing to that of Czech and Slovakia, it is used to produce
normal and super electric insulating materials, building
decoration, fine arts, and sculptural works, etc.
Vân
Hải white sand deposit which has a reserve of 13.9 mil.
tons, 1,200 m long, 500 m wide. Its contents is as follows: SiO2:
98.06 - 99.3%, CaO: 0.05 - 0.06%, Fe2O3:
0,08 - 1,14%, MgO: 0.05 - 0.1%, Al2O3: 0.45
- 1.14% successfully meeting specifications required by super
glass production.
Mineral
water found in Quang Hanh is as clear as crystal, absolutely free
from bacteria, and comprises of the following Dàily needed
chemical: Na+, K+, Ca+, Mg+,
Cl-, SO4-, HCO3-, etc.
Besides, Quang Hanh has also hot spring suitable for treatment of
some diseases.
