The Children’s Cultural
House was established in 1991 on Cô Tiên Mountain, 1 km from the
centre of Hạ Long City to the north-east. Its architecture symbol
likes young shoots rising up midst of the windy blue sky. It features classes for
talented children in the realms of music, painting, dance, foreign
languages and sports. The site has tennis courts, a swimming pool
and an extensive playground for the younger kids. Along with
classes for modern musical instruments, there are also lessons
available in traditional instruments such as the monochord and
16-chord zither. The activities of Quảng
Ninh’s Children's Cultural House have already had a constructive
impact on the province’s children: more and more are being
attracted to participate in its activities. Many have grown up
here, and gained high prizes in contests and artistic
performances, both in
Vietnam and abroad.
